KALAMAKI
A wonderful family friendly beach close to Chania city
Kalamiaki is a nice sandy beach, located only 5 km away from Chania city. The beach is about 600 m wide, and it is one of the best beaches of the Municipality of Chania for everyday swimming.
The beach has shallow water, which is perfect for families with young children. It is well organized, with sunbeds, parasols, water sports facilities etc.
Close to the beach there are literally endless options for tourist accommodation, eating out and drinking. At the west edge of the beach there is a small bay, which is separated from the central beach with a narrow sand stripe.
Kalamaki beach is essentially the coastal part of Galatas village, which lies in a fertile piece of land full of trees.
