ST JOHN THE THEOLOGIST - APTERA

The restored byzantine monastery of Saint John is located next to the Roman tanks in the center of the ancient city of Aptera. It is supposed to have been built during the 7th century as part of the property of Patmos monastery to which it was linked until it was completely isolated in 1964.
